Tennis icon Roger Federer recently shared a glimpse of his vacation in Thailand on social media, as fans reacted to the background song.

The Swiss legend was taking a leisure ride in the Southeast Asian country with Ellie Goulding’s song ‘Still Falling For You’

The song that was played during his emotional farewell recalled memories of the 2022 Laver Cup tournament. The 42-year-old had last featured at a Grand Slam event in Wimbledon, where he lost to Hubert Hurkacz in the quarterfinals. 

A few months later, he ended his illustrious career at the Laver Cup. He featured with his greatest rival and colleague in the sport, Rafael Nadal.

However, since then, Federer has been scarcely seen in public or at the big tennis tournaments. However recently, he sent his fans into a frenzy after posting a series of pictures of his vacation time in Thailand.

The ATP Tour commented about the background music of Ellie Goulding’s song ‘Still Falling For You,’ claiming it was breaking their hearts.

Roger Federer was sporting the traditional Thai bamboo hat in the pictures as he took a leisurely ride in the gondolas. He also enjoyed the traditional Thai dessert of mango sticky rice.

Roger Federer is loving his retirement time

Late last year, Roger Federer revealed that he loved his retirement time. The 20-time Grand Slam champion added that he was glad to have more control over his schedule, unlike his days on the court.

I think now, after six months, I feel like I am more in charge of my schedule. Whereas before, I was still just, how do you say, it was more the afterburn of having just retired. 

The Swiss, who retired in 2022, has recently been spending much time with friends and family, including on vacations.

It's been good honestly, I have to be careful I don't do too many things, you know? But at the same time, I am really happy to be busy and I like being with other people, love being with my family, and I love to travel. But I guess sometimes, I try to make sure I get the right balance and I feel like I have that, so, things are great.
