Mark Hoppus is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and television personality . He is the bassist and co-lead vocalist for pop punk band Blink-182. Blink-182’s members also include/have included Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge, and Matt Skiba.

Mark is the son of Kerry and George Hoppus. Mark is married to Skye Everly, with whom he has a son.

He has said:

the majority of my ancestry traces back to finland. my grandfather on my mother’s side was first-generation american, and finnish was the language spoken in their home when he was a boy. the hoppus name has been traced through american history and back to switzerland and germany. my ancestors fought in the revolutionary war, civl war, WWI, and WWII. my father is currently writing the definitive history on the hoppus lineage.

Mark’s paternal grandfather was George Wilbur Hoppus (the son of Milo Defest Hoppus and Pansy Blossom Mowery). Milo was the son of John Christian Hoppus and Rose E. Ringer. Pansy was the daughter of Wilber S. Mowery and Laura Alice Brubaker.

Mark’s paternal grandmother was Ruth Leemon (the daughter of Ortie/Artie W. Leemon and Martha A. Douma). Ruth was born in Indiana. Ortie was the son of William John Leemon, whose father was Irish, and of Julia Ann Lloyd. Martha was born in Olive Township, Michigan, the daughter of Andries/Andrew Douma, who was Dutch/Frisian, and of Hendrikje/Henrietta/Hannah Duker, who was born in Nappanee, Indiana, to Dutch/Frisian parents.

Mark’s maternal grandfather was Allan/Allen J. Orrenmaa (the son of Aaron Orrenmaa and Lempi Autio/Antis). Aaron and Lempi were Finnish.

Mark’s maternal grandmother was Ruth Housley Phillips (the daughter of Ira David Phillips and Onie/Oneida/Onida Kathleen Housley). Ira was the son of Marion James Phillips and Martha Ann Jones. Onie was the daughter of John Boring Housley and Mary Jane Newman.
