Former WWE writer weighs-in on Edges wrestling future, whether hed like to see the latter reun

Three weeks ago, Edge wrestled his last WWE match on his current contract, which is set to expire at the end of September. As of now, he has not re-signed an extension with the promotion. That said, the ball is truly in his court for whatever he plans to do next. In the meantime, various wrestling personalities have been trying to decipher The Rated-R Superstar’s future.

The latest addition to that list is former WWE lead writer Brian Gewirtz. During an interview with Steve Fall on Ten Count, Gewirtz spoke about Edge. He implied that the WWE legend could hang up his boots with his head held high, leaving no regrets behind. Citing Edge’s remarkable career as motivation, Brian argued he could actually see the Toronto great bid adieu to wrestling.

Keeping in mind that Edge will turn 50 in November, Brian said the former could do just about anything he sets his mind to. As a result, the SVP of Seven Bucks Productions would consider himself in a dilemma over Edge’s future. “He’s had a pretty full, amazing career over 25 years. He’s going to be 50 in November. He could do whatever he sets his mind to do at this point. So, I don’t know,” he said.

Brian even described Edge’s return at the Royal Rumble in 2020 as astonishing. Pretty much like everyone else, Gewirtz was blown away by the fact that he’s going to see Edge wrestle once again. Over 3.5 years have passed since then, and the Master Manipulator has had so many dream matches in a span of over 1290 days. He last wrestled Sheamus in his hometown of Toronto.

Brian Gewirtz wants to see Edge and Christian reunite again

There were premature rumors of Edge possibly showing up at AEW’s All In show at Wembley Stadium. However, of course, it didn’t happen. That said, Brian Gewirtz was asked if he’d like to see Edge reunite with Christian in AEW. Taking the safer route, Brian reiterated that it would eventually depend on what Edge comes down to.

However, speaking as a fan, Gewirtz said that he’d love to watch Edge and Christian together in that ring. It doesn’t matter if that happens on AEW, WWE, or any indie show. “But I’d still, as a fan, love to see them work together at AEW, WWE, some weird independent show, whatever it is,” he said. A few days ago, Edge debunked a false report by PW Torch about his contract situation with WWE.
