Boise Police warn about scammers saying they're a Lieutenant

Boise, Idaho (CBS2) – A phone scammer pretending to be Boise Police Lt. Davis is calling people and claiming they have committed a crime.

The scammer says there is a warrant out for an arrest.

Boise Police says no law enforcement agency will call you to inform you of a warrant, threaten arrest or ask for money in exchange for your freedom.

If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and call the Boise Police Department directly to report this scam activity.
