An end to high temperatures in Boise is closer than it seems
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — This summer has statistically been one of the hottest in Boise history with a record number of days in the triple digits. While this heatwave may seem neverending, fall weather is coming sooner than one would think.
Although Wednesday's high temperature of 106 degrees broke the Aug. 31 record set back in 2004,Boise and much of the Treasure Valley are set to see a temperature shift in the next two weeks.
Forecasts show next Thursday's high will drop to about 83 degrees. That's a 23-degree difference from today's record high. Next Friday's high is expected to drop even lower to about 81 degrees. The average temperature for this time of year in the Boise area ranges from 85 to 88 degrees.
Relief is much needed after weeks of above-average temperatures in the Treasure Valley. Temperature highs heading into Labor Day weekend will continue to scorch the Boise area, but an end is in sight to one of the hottest summers in this region's history.
